How PCR Test works?

Swab Sample

We need the sample to begin the test. This is done with a swab that goes deep in a person’s nose and throat, and then placed in a fluid.

Lysis Buffer Mixing

Within the sample, scientists combine small amounts with lysis buffer, a chemical which breaks open the person’s virus-infected cells.

RT-PCR Machine

The viral material inside the collected sample is then amplified, inside a RT-PCR machine. The machine makes copies of the genetic material to determine the presence of the virus.

Test Result Analysis

The machine analyses and records spikes on a data graph to determine the results. Negative results won’t show the spikes on the graph. We then send the results to the patient via email.

As such, the reporting time for COVID-19 screening is subject to change based on the afore-mentioned conditions.
No, there are no age restrictions being imposed on this programme.
The results of the screening test are confidential and will only be made known to the patient and the clinic/hospital involved.
Details on the suitability of your premises and preparation for on-site COVID-19 screening will be discussed over the phone between the patient and the medical service provider upon purchase of the package.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Packages are valid for a period of 30 days from date of purchase.
  • Packages are non-transferable/refundable.
  • The partnering medical laboratories shall contact the Purchaser within 3 hours (For purchases made between 9am to 9pm daily, and the next day for purchases past 9pm) to confirm the preferred scheduled date and time.
  • The date and time will be regarded as confirmed once an email from the partnering medical laboratories has been sent to the Purchaser confirming that the details of the schedule test are accurate.
  • The partnering medical laboratories shall use its’ best efforts to fulfil the Purchaser’s preferred date and time but this may be rescheduled by the partnering medical laboratories subject to capacity.
  • Purchasers will need to declare at the time of purchase that they do not have a history of being tested positive for COVID-19 over a period of 21 days from the date of purchase; and does not have a history of close contact with a known case of COVID-19 within the last 21 days (i.e: is not a PUI).
  • Lab processing time as stated is as per agreed upon, with the partnering medical laboratories at the time of publication. This shall be subject to change without prior notice to the package holder. Although every attempt shall be made to adhere to the proposed timelines, the medical service provider and its’ associated partners shall not be held liable in any way whatsoever against delays resulting from an increase in the processing time of sample specimens by the medical laboratories.
  • The COVID-19 test is conducted for screening potential COVID-19 infections on high-risk individuals. The outcome of the COVID-19 test shall be the sole responsibility of the medical laboratories.
